I wanted to go back through the series of The Accidental Demonslayer, by Angie Fox. It's been awhile since I've picked up one of her books and I don't know why it has taken so long for me to reconnect with Lizzie, Pirate her cute Jack Russell Terrier, Demitri her protector, and her Harley riding Grandma. I'm excited to get back to this paranormal read, but in more excited that I've received an ARC book from this series.
I'm wondering perhaps if I'm too nerdy though, for I remember most of the adventures and much of the humor...do I need to go all the way back and restart reading the whole series for a refresher? Does anyone else do that when reviewing books in a series and it's been a long time since you've traveled the author's world? I do so to give a fair review and really see the story and character developments. I don't think it's wrong that others might not do it.....or even read any part if the series before getting to a later book. What about you out there what do you prefer doing? If this was like a Gerry Bartlett book of her Real Vampires series and I received an ARC book I'd probably start off at book 5, or 6 because the older story lines are pretty fresh....but I might look up old notes to beginning books for reference.
What are your thoughts?
